party post } { drinks are on me

So the thing about wishing for home and accidentally winding up with your place of employment is that that employment can now transfer to Teleios. Cami's had Rousseau's for about six months now, and she's managed to change it into the place that Sophie and Jane Anne loved to something that's a little more something of Teleios, even if she kept a lot of the New Orleans flair. It's something she couldn't bring herself to take away, that memory of home, even if she's far, far away.
The upper floors have been modified into a small loft for her and Hope, something simple and comfortable that's currently loaded with baby toys because when you're being spoiled by your Aunt Cami, you can never have too many. She still doesn't know why Hope came with her when she was brought into Teleios, but she is going to do everything in her power to keep her safe until Klaus our Hayley get here. It's not much power, given the measly human of it all, but that's why she hires attractive, strapping supernatural gentlemen to do her dirty work for her.
Currently she's behind the bar, with Hope in her playpen that she worked in there, just so she can keep an eye on her. She's more than willing to pour you a drink, listen to your troubles and woes and make sure that you leave her bar with your mind feeling a little lighter. After all, there's nothing more dangerous than a bartender who also happens to be a psychologist. She'll get what you're worried about out of you sooner or later.

"Hey, can you grab me a drink before you go?"
Rafe would know Noah's favorite drink.
It's literally only Noah's favorite drink. Everyone else hates the stuff they call swill, and it is pretty terrible truth be told, but it's his favorite and he's damn stubborn about it too.
no subject
He's already moving toward the bar to get Noah his drink, except when he turns around to confirm it - regardless of the fact he already knows what it will be - he catches sight of those bruises and cuts on his face.
And Rafe isn't nearly as swayed by Noah's charm the way his girlfriend is.
"Seriously, man?"
no subject
God, those judgy eyes are so full of judgement and sighing. Annoyingly effective even if Noah is still making a face and even if it will never stop Noah from doing shit like that. Rafe will be (and has been) sighing at him for all time.
"Seriously, what?"
no subject
At least for now.
"You look like crap," is what Rafe supplies, though there's nothing mean-spirited about it. If anything, there's concern, because Rafe will always be concerned about Noah and the trouble he gets himself into. Don't think he hasn't spotted that watch.
What happens when its owner wants the watch back?
no subject
Noah folds his arms across his chest, releasing a breath between his teeth that's a sigh of its own.
"I'm fine," he says, knowing Rafe gets concerned about him and the trouble he gets in, but he doesn't really want Rafe to be. Rafe worries more about other people than himself, and Noah sometimes doubts the universe got it correct when it made Noah a guardian angel instead of Rafe. "Nothin to get so twisted up about, okay?"
He can take care of himself especially when he gets himself in trouble.
no subject
He may not worry about all people at all times, but those he cares about he guards fiercely. He's protective, in his own Noah-y way, and while he would rather be an angel than a demon himself, he doesn't think the universe got it wrong where Noah is concerned.
"I'm not getting twisted up about it. I'm just wondering if you actually like getting your face rearranged."
no subject
He's scared of the day he finds his ward. The number of people he wants to protect (and he does with an intensity) are limited.
He doesn't like being an angel. It's better than being a demon though. Rafe deserves more. Better. "The man's an asshole, and I was showing him what happens when he's an asshole to Sarah. If it means I get hit a few times while taking him down, I like it just fine."
no subject
The very strength and speed he uses now, like a badge of honor.
"I'm not saying he didn't have it coming. I'm saying - we don't know what we're up against with these people. We don't know what makes them decide we're good candidates or not, and while I'm aware you don't give a shit about that, I know you don't want them suddenly deciding you shouldn't be here."
no subject
He releases a breath. Well, there's an effective argument if he ever heard one. No, he doesn't want to get sent away as much as he hates that they've got no control or say in who goes or comes or whatever. The words hit, and he finally looks away.
"You really think they'd just... do that?" He licks his lips in frustration (in fear) at the thought.
no subject
He isn't going to lie to Noah, however effective it may be in getting him to be more cautious. He's always honest with his friends and what he thinks. There's a lot about Teleios he loves, and there's a lot about it that still makes him wary. He's never been able to really figure it out. "Considering there's genuinely terrible people running around here still? Probably not. But I worry about you, man."
One day he's going to piss off the wrong person.
no subject
"Yeah, I know." It's said in a low admittance, but it'd be impossible not to know. Rafe is one of those caring people. When he cares about someone, he makes it obvious. He has always made it obvious how he worries and cares about Noah despite Noah's sheer recklessness.
He offers him a light smirk. "You worry too much."
no subject
The echoed sentiment is flung back at Noah with a small smirk. Rafe's aware he worries too much and can take it a step too far. He worries even more than he lets on, about things he doesn't dare discuss. Hana likely reminds him of this fact, as well. To his credit, Rafe does let go of it once he's called on it. "I'd give some of the worrying to you if I could, just so you'd have some."
no subject
"What would I do with some worry? Don't think it'd look good on me."
no subject
"The whole purple and blue thing all over your face? Not a great look either."
no subject
"Really? I think I wear it well," he says with a cocky smirk, lifting up his chin all pleased. "How's the night going?"
no subject
You're always so pleased with yourself, Noah. Rafe always finds it perplexing, but he loves his best friend no matter what. The narration will always remind everyone of this fact. "I think out of the two of us, you've had the more exciting evening."
no subject
"Probably. Not that that's hard for me to do," he says with a smirk that widens, and there's fondness deep within his jack-ass-itude. "You never get into trouble."
no subject
He could, though. Maybe. He's always tried to steer clear of it, not because he doesn't like the thought - but maybe because he fears he'd enjoy it too much if he ever did. His instincts are wholly different to the instincts of an angel, when it comes down to it.
no subject
"Yeah, sure you could," his smirk widens as he takes a long drink from his glass. "It's one of your charms."
That he doesn't get into trouble.
no subject
That twinge of fear Noah felt, at the thought of the Two sending him back home? Rafe felt it. And a part of him is always going to relish that he can make Noah afraid. A part of him is always going to want to twist that around until he makes Noah scream, but because he genuinely loves Noah, it's not the part of him that wins. It's not the side of him Rafe feeds.
"Are you saying I have a lot of 'em?" he asks with a smirk.
no subject
For all his jackass ways, for all the lengths Noah will go to, he is unfailingly loyal once he has let someone in. There's very little Rafe could do that would break that. It just doesn't always mean he'll be loyal in the best ways, and sometimes his fear of losing someone takes over his ability to respect what they want.
But that is definitely not foreshadowing.
"Maybe." He has more than most people Noah has met. Noah doesn't like people. "Try not to let it go to your head."
no subject
He flashes Noah a grin, finally sitting down across from him with a beer of his own. It's a run-of-your-mill beer, and not Noah's disgusting beer, and he leans against his chair, thankful he's able to finally sit down. The truth is, nothing gets to Rafe's head. He's far too modest for that, unlike some characters the narration has. On a more serious note, though -
"You ever wonder what the other realms are like?"
He may not have a pirate's heart in the traditional sense, like Noah, but he is an adventurer.
no subject
"Yeah. Sometimes. There are a lot of other realms out there. Who knows what's inside of 'em?"
They could have amazing stuff there. They could have things he could bring back to Sarah.
"You'd want to go to them one day? See what they're all about?"
no subject
And he's thinking along the same lines as Noah. He could bring stuff back for Hana from anywhere and everywhere. Hell, he'd want to take Hana with him. He'd always carried this hopelessly romantic notion he'd travel the world with her someday, and while that world is now over - there's this one, and it's not all bad. He's hesitant to trust it, but God, he really wants to sometimes.
"I've heard Thebes is amazing."
no subject
Noah would love to go anywhere with Sarah too. He'd love to do anything with her really is the truth. The thing is Noah has never been hopelessly romantic except apparently there is a hopeless romantic inside of him. It's Sarah that brought it out.
"Really? Amazing how?" Rafe probably pays far more attention to that than Noah does, and now he's curious about the other realms.
