party post } { which one can say of any attractive woman with half a brain.

In the height of summer, Daneca is in charge of planning the annual movie in the park. The set up is simple, all she has to do is find the supplies and figure out what movie to show. Which is why in late August, the sun starts to set. (It doesn't really "set", but Daneca calls in a favor with a certain god of the sun to dim the bright summer light to something better.
Something with ambiance.)
Stalls of food and merchants renting and selling blankets ring the park by the lake, lit by fairy lights and Chinese lanterns, and the screen is nestled beneath a pair of looming oak trees that offer a bit more shade for the movie. It's a double feature this year -- The World is Not Enough and Casino Royale. Someone couldn't decide between Pierce Brosnan's James Bond and Daniel Craig's James Bond and someone -- cough, Elena -- offered the brilliant compromise of "why not both?"
Both. Both is good.
So tuck in. Enjoy yourselves! Enjoy shirtless Daniel Craig, you know you want to.

She flutters around overseeing merchants and snapping at one trying to fleece a pair of youths who misplaced their blanket from home, brushing her hand across his arm until he calms and everyone is happy and the kids get their blanket back. She does the same with a couple of burly teenagers trying to bully a little boy and they back off from the slim young woman like she's the scariest thing on the planet even though her voice doesn't lift and she barely says a word, calming the sweet child and sending him on his way once the bullies flee.
Eventually, she'll setting in to watch one of the movies, but she can be caught before then and even during the film. She is here to make sure everything goes smoothly, after all.

"That... was impressive," he comments to Daneca when she gets those teenagers to flee without raising her voice. Noah can't quite keep his jaw from locking in anger despite the fact the situation is over now. He would have been an asshole and raised his voice to those teenagers.
Noah hands a balloon he found from one of the vendors to the kid before he goes. There goes his asshole reputation.

"I read in a child development book that not raising your voice forces them to listen to you. I don't know if that's true, but..."

"Seemed to have worked. I would have been raising my voice all over the place. Kids are assholes."
Not all of them, but a lot of them are. Most of the ones he grew up around and with, they were assholes.

Basically, having a night off is really weird.
"Need a hand with anything?"

"Would you mind taking these over to that stand right there? They're the free ones."
