party post } { drinks are on me

So the thing about wishing for home and accidentally winding up with your place of employment is that that employment can now transfer to Teleios. Cami's had Rousseau's for about six months now, and she's managed to change it into the place that Sophie and Jane Anne loved to something that's a little more something of Teleios, even if she kept a lot of the New Orleans flair. It's something she couldn't bring herself to take away, that memory of home, even if she's far, far away.
The upper floors have been modified into a small loft for her and Hope, something simple and comfortable that's currently loaded with baby toys because when you're being spoiled by your Aunt Cami, you can never have too many. She still doesn't know why Hope came with her when she was brought into Teleios, but she is going to do everything in her power to keep her safe until Klaus our Hayley get here. It's not much power, given the measly human of it all, but that's why she hires attractive, strapping supernatural gentlemen to do her dirty work for her.
Currently she's behind the bar, with Hope in her playpen that she worked in there, just so she can keep an eye on her. She's more than willing to pour you a drink, listen to your troubles and woes and make sure that you leave her bar with your mind feeling a little lighter. After all, there's nothing more dangerous than a bartender who also happens to be a psychologist. She'll get what you're worried about out of you sooner or later.

Despite the fact they're brothers, they could not be more different in some ways, and how they handle liquor is one of them. "Why would anyone want to steal one of your shoes and one of your socks? Would they only need one of each?"
Why is he trying to reason with Ethan when he's drunk?
So many questions the universe will likely not have an answer for.

"Because there is a conspiracy, Connor. It's a conspiracy over people wearing both of their shoes and socks at the same time. You better watch your feet," he says and now he's pointing at his brother's feet before he looks up at Connor with a sideways smile. "...I'm actually very drunk at the moment."
He says this like it is some entirely large revelation which will be shocking.
no subject
This is once again said with incomparable fondness, Connor tugging Ethan gently toward one of the back booths where he can sit down. While he's at it, he will be fetching them a waiter to get Ethan water and food. Lots and lots of food. Ethan doesn't have a huge appetite, which means he likely drank on an empty stomach.
"I think there is a conspiracy in Teleios, but it's likely not the one you're thinking of."
no subject
He lifts his eyebrow, tilting his head thoughtfully. He is very appreciative of his brother and his brother looking after him. He hasn't eaten very much today at all.
"...mm, you mean it isn't actually got anything to do with socks and shoes?" The smirk on his face is there in his amusement. "What sort of conspiracy, Connor?"
no subject
Connor has theories - he's got a bright noggin' up in there - but he doesn't think discussing them with Ethan right now is the best course of action. He orders for them, and then turns back to his brother.
"I thought you were worried about your missing articles of clothing? And why are you not as worried about your shirt?"
no subject
He stares at his brother, tilting his head to the side so far he nearly tips over, and then stares down at his own very bare chest.
"...........................oh."
He might not have realized he wasn't wearing a shirt....................
no subject
It's just like old times.
"...Do I even want to know?"
no subject
Connor isn't the only one who misses Chicago, but he misses it a little bit less when life in Teleios can be like this. Despite the stuff that can go on in the city, it has more stability than Chicago ever did with its rifts, and he has to admit he finds a great deal of comfort in that.
(Also, no Lucien... That helps...)
"No, but he'll likely tell you about his conspiracies anyway," Connor quips, sending Lily a fond smirk.
no subject
"I would expect no less." It's said with a smirk as she orders a drink of her own. It helps with those vampire urges, and she likes to drink. "How is the evening panning out for you both?"
no subject
"Honestly, other than the missing clothing, it's an incredibly good night, and I'm building a fort. From toothpicks."
He presses his lips together a tiny bit as he concentrates. IT WILL NOT FALL.
no subject
"He's also had a lot to drink. In case that wasn't obvious."
Because he's a dick sometimes, he'll slyly snatch one of those toothpicks away until the fort crumbles.
Oops?
no subject
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
"Why do you hate me?"
It isn't said seriously obviously since he knows Connor doesn't hate him, but he does pick up a toothpick to throw at him only his aim is off so it ends up landing unhelpfully on the table.
He frowns. Wai.
no subject
"He has? Here, I thought he always walked around without a shirt on and made toothpick castles and reacted appropriately to the tragedy of the toothpick castle's crumbling."
Aka way to be over dramatic, oh-drunken-one. FTR, neither Ethan or Lily would let him get ulcers... or well, they'd both do what they could to distract him from his thoughts when they could/talk them out with him.
no subject
Except she's seriously attractive and it's a problem. Connor's self-imposed rules don't work very well when you have someone like Lily in your life. And he gave himself those rules when he was young, traumatized beyond all end by what he and Ethan saw in that video feed they made for themselves.
So maybe he's tossing a toothpick her way in return. His smiles are rustier, but she's always good at bringing them out.
"If I hated you, would I have ordered you food?"
The food that is now being placed among them, btw. Yummy nachos and sliders. He turns to Lily, lifting a nacho in offer with that tiny smirk of his. "He does it frequently enough I can understand the confusion."
no subject
Ethan says as he picks up some of the nachos and just starts to munch on them. The only time is appetite is anything worth mentioning is when he is very drunk or after a full moon. Those are the only times.
He quietly starts to eat his food as well as rebuild the fort, and there's still a restlessness to his movements. It's as though they manifested their response to the trauma in completely opposite ways. Connor became more and more controlled, and Ethan became restless as fuck.
Also, how much do I love dat you added that in in this verse? :')no subject
He's seriously attractive himself, and apparently they're going to make eyes at each other, while Ethan is drunk and not paying attention to their lives (though obviously he is aware there's an attraction between the two of them in general, they make it obvious and he's perceptive that way).
She reaches her hand over to take the nacho from him. Her hand brushes against his own along the way before she takes a bite out of it.
"I see the truth now. I've been enlightened."
no subject
And he never, ever lets himself forget it.
Which is why he forces himself to look away from Lily eventually, bringing the beer to his lips with a tiny smirk. Like he wasn't affected just then.
"I don't hate you, I guess." It's as close to a love declaration as Ethan's going to get.
Turning to Lily, he answers more seriously, "I was referring to the conspiracy that is Teleios."
no subject
He's still paying attention to the conversation though, because he's starting to sober up, and he tends to be restless. It means his focus can be in many different places at once, and he has another set of nachos which he's picking up to chew on.
Conspiracy. They'd been talking about that earlier.
"You mean the real reason why we're all here and what's behind it all? That sort of conspiracy?"
no subject
It's not as though she's not used to it by this point. There are rules. The rules are there for a reason because of their natures, because vampires and werewolves aren't supposed to mix. The universe says its so, changes their very beings to attack each other, but they're in a new universe now. The rules can be different.
"Ah. The big mystery of the Two and the city and our debt... all of it."
no subject
Not that he is thinking of it in terms of rules. He thinks of it in terms of her safety and her livelihood, which happen to be the most important things to him. He wants her to live a long and happy life, and a vampire's eternity can be cut short if a werewolf sinks its claws in.
"Ethan's a little disappointed the conspiracy doesn't involve his sock and his shoe."
Note, he does not use the plural form. One sock. One shoe.
no subject
"That would be disappointing," she says, and the smirk widens a bit as her gaze drifts over the bar, idly wondering where on Earth Ethan lost his articles of clothing this time. "No, the conspiracy involves why we're all really here. Any guesses? I'm betting on prank show."
Not really, but it amuses her.
no subject
There's a pause as he looks between the two of them.
"You two should go dancing. This is a really good song."
What?
He ships it. Well, he wants his brother to be happy, and he knows the whys he doesn't let himself, but he's just saying...
no subject
It doesn't change the fact that he'd wondered several times throughout the night if he should ask. All Ethan's really doing is having the courage to bring up what Connor can't - won't. A small smirk finally tugs on his lips as he brings himself to his feet, all grace and poise, extending a hand in Lily's direction. "Ethan telling us what to do not withstanding, would you like to?"
Dance, that is. With him. Yes. .-.
no subject
Ethan gives Connor a look right back like You're gd welcome.
Cause seriously, you're welcome.
no subject
"I think I would."
She tugs him out to the area of the bar that's meant for dancing.
"It's been a little while. I need to see if you have any moves still."
