In the height of summer, Daneca is in charge of planning the annual movie in the park. The set up is simple, all she has to do is find the supplies and figure out what movie to show. Which is why in late August, the sun starts to set. (It doesn't really "set", but Daneca calls in a favor with a certain god of the sun to dim the bright summer light to something better.

Something with ambiance.)

Stalls of food and merchants renting and selling blankets ring the park by the lake, lit by fairy lights and Chinese lanterns, and the screen is nestled beneath a pair of looming oak trees that offer a bit more shade for the movie. It's a double feature this year -- The World is Not Enough and Casino Royale. Someone couldn't decide between Pierce Brosnan's James Bond and Daniel Craig's James Bond and someone -- cough, Elena -- offered the brilliant compromise of "why not both?"

Both. Both is good.

So tuck in. Enjoy yourselves! Enjoy shirtless Daniel Craig, you know you want to.

Noah Evans is here with his fiance, Sarah Monroe. Their cat, Steggy, is also here, following primly after Noah wherever he goes. He carries a blanket underneath his arm from home, because he's looking for her. They were supposed to meet up here, but he is currently trying to decide what food he wants to eat and what food Sarah would most like out of all the stalls and possibilities.

He frowns. So many choices. He looks at the person nearest to him, trying to size up how valuable their opinion might be in the long run (he doesn't really like most people is the thing). "Any recommendations?"

He brought alcohol from home too. It's tucked within the blanket as he wasn't sure if it'd be available, and he likes to drink, okay? He leans up against the tree, taking a drink from the flask. It's rum inside because he's that much of a pirate sometimes. Steggy climbs up the tree and promptly perches up on his shoulder cause she thinks she is the Queen of the World, and he lets out a faux frustrated noise at her but she meows and butts her head against his face (It's cute).

Once Sarah and him reunite, the two lovebirds will be curling up and cuddling together on their blanket with their food and drink and cat to enjoy the movies. :')

Steggy is Noah's actual cat.

Sarah is his human-shaped cat, fussiness and prissiness and all. She isn't the most sociable creature, but she does love watching movies, bonus points if watching these movies means curling up with her husband-to-be. She finds them the perfect spot which is still amongst the crowd but separate enough they'll be having their privacy and she can monopolize most of his time. :')

"You should dress up as James Bond for whenever Halloween comes. It's working for me."

This is the extent of her commentary so far.

Sarah is Noah's favorite (person, thing, everything) in the whole wide worlds. By the time they're settled up on their blanket, it's all he has wanted to do. He wants to get away from the crowds and the people, and he wants to curl up with his soon-to-be wife and monopolize all of her time. His arm winds further around her as he looks over at her with a slow, fond and utterly amused smile on his face.

"James Bond, huh? You're enjoying the whole suit and the action star with the gun thing?" He shifts so he is looking down at her, biting down on his lip like he has some mischievous idea or another. Steggy sleeps at their feet peacefully enjoying the movie or just enjoying sleeping lbr. "How about the accent? Should I try out one of those?"

Because he would if it'd make her happy and if it's working for her, the whole ensemble... :')

Sarah tosses popcorn into her mouth, smiling to herself as he looks down at her. She's laying flat on the picnic blanket and continues to watch the screen, despite being perfectly aware his eyes are on her. Just where she likes them, tbh. "It's the whole package. He's a spy. He's sexy. He drives fast cars. He wears tailor made suits. And he always escapes death. But classily. I do have a soft spot for M."

At the mention of an accent, however, Sarah straightens in place, turns until she's laying on her stomach instead.

Now she's looking down at him instead, her expression filled with intrigue. "Seriously? Yeah, hit me with your best shot."

Noah lies sideways with his head on his hand, leaning up against the side of her, as he looks down at her. His eyes are completely on her, and he is less aware of anything happening on the screen at the moment. "That's the whole package? Here I thought you liked sexy pirates in boats who sometimes tends a bar and is the opposite of classy. I thought that was your whole package. I feel very... misled."

There's a smirk on his voice though. It's a fond, intense smirk on his face.

"If I'm going to be playing Bond, ...James Bond at Halloween, I've got to look into the particular phrases spies regularly use." His accent?

It's fucking gorgeous.

Oh my goodness.

Sarah's lips part in stunned fascination. She has never heard Noah try to pull off an accent, not that it looks as though he needs to try at all. It comes seamlessly, and she's half-wondering if it's something he's already used before. Predictably, she's never found him sexier than she does now. Okay, that's not true. But definitely in the top ten list.

If a list ever existed.

She clears her throat, very obviously staring at him. "Um... how ... about 'I always enjoyed learning a new tongue.'"

Noah has had to use accents before for pirate-y cons. It's nothing he even meant to keep. He just never thought about using an accent on her before. Her reaction is completely priceless though. He grins a bit, pleased he kept this up his sleeve to unleash on her when she was least suspecting it.

He bites down on his lip. The tiny smirk tugs across his face because he loves she is staring at him.

Noah smirks at her, intensely enjoying whenever she finds him attractive (especially attractive). He pops a fry into his mouth, chewing it and smiling at her. "I always enjoyed learning a new tongue."

Noah stares at her with a tiny smirk on his face, leaning into kiss the side of her neck. This is not helping (Noah is not trying to help).

"...Sarah?"

Is he still using the British accent? You betta believe!

"Yeah!"

She's still here. And paying attention. Sort of.

Tipping her head to the side to give him more access to her neck, she swallows a little. The things that he does to her, man. "Did that come naturally to you or have you had practice? Because it sounds like you've had practice."

[sasspot]

Noah lingers against her neck with his mouth, sucking at her skin with his mouth and his teeth a bit. He smiles against her neck before he pulls back. His gaze meets her own.

"I've had some practice. You never know when an accent could come in handy on a job," he says with a smirk. "If I knew you'd have had that reaction to it, I would have whipped it out in bed a long time ago."

Seriously, a long time ago....

"You could've told me anyway!"

It's a half-protest, her voice stretching far too thin the longer he pays attention to her neck. Her eyes flutter closed, leaning into him with a sigh, and then slapping his chest with her hand. Still half-heartedly.

"We're in public, you know."

[sasspot]

"I could have. I just... didn't realize."

It was a big deal. He kind of forgot about it in the grand scheme of things, but now he is planning on using that British accent frequently. He lingers against her neck, sliding his hand up her side as he feels her reactions to him (how she leans into him with a sigh, and--

He laughs at the slap. "What? I had no idea..." The smirk on his face shows he is being a lil shit. Shh.

[revenant]

"You're incorrigible."

It's whispered against him as she rests her forehead against his, a telltale smile dancing on her lips. She leans forward, until her mouth has caught his. She is smiling the whole time, because she's found those are the best kinds of kisses: the happy ones.

The ones with laughter. "And I love you."

It's so cheesy, but it's so true.

"Funnel cake. You can absolutely never go wrong with funnel cake."

Hana slides up next to him with a wide smile, before reaching over to say hello to Steggy. She's got some tiger in her (sometimes) so that means they probably get a long, right? Right.

"At least that's my personal preference."

[sasspot]

Noah looks over at Hana with a tiny smirk. Steggy leans into the pet, happily, like the queen that she is. She does love Hana. It's likely amusing how prim she looks as she lifts up her tiny kitty chin and gives a meow.

"Can't argue with that logic. It's dough, fried, covered in sugar. Don't see anything bad about it."

[nelipot]

"Exactly. So simple, so terrible for you, yet so delicious." She flashes him a grin as she gives Steggy her due, before shifting the conversation just a little. "Sarah drag you here so that she can objectify James Bond in any incarnation?"

[sasspot]

Noah smiles back at her, stepping up towards the line so he can get one for himself and for Sarah. Steggy follows close at Hana's heels, purring and appreciating the attention. "Pretty much. No dragging needed though." He's happy to go wherever Sarah will be. He sends her a tiny knowing smile then. "Is that what you did with Rafe?"

Rafe's one of his best friends, and he knows how head over heels the guy is for her.

"There may have been some bribery involved." She knows that it wasn't as much bribery as there may have needed to be if he actually didn't like something, but he also knows his girlfriend well enough to know that she is in it for the mancandy. "But not as much as he could have held out for."

[sasspot]

"I wonder how much he could have held out for..." Noah trails off with a tiny smirk at the thought, but he is not surprised Rafe gave in sooner. It's clear his best friend is head over heels for her.

She laughs in response before shrugging. "That will be my secret until he learns how to better negotiate."

[chocolateries]

Kitty cat! Silena loves animals, of all kinds, she's a sucker for the kind of unconditional love they give people, but Steggy is special. It's mostly because she's Sarah's, but partly because she's just precious.

(And she is Sarah's, what's Noah's is Sarah's, so...)

When the cat loudly meows at her feet, she crouches down to smooth a hand over her fur, taking a treat out of her bag to present to her. It's a stuffed steggy for Steggy. She looks up to flash Noah an easy grin, still petting the cat. She can multitask.

"It's got catnip in it." Scritch scratch. "Someone else's cat followed me all the way from my apartment, I think she could smell it."

BUT ITS JUST 4 U, STEG.

Steggy is definitely both Noah and Sarah's cat. She's part of their little family and home they've made for themselves. All three of them, they'd fight for each other, and anyone one of them likes... the rest do.

It's just how it works.

Noah actually laughs (which is kind of a rarity for him) when he sees the present she has for Steggy.

"Holy shit, it's a catnip stegosaurus!"

Noah loves cats and loves dinosaurs so his mind is kind of blown. Hopefully he doesn't blow his own rep as a total asshole rn but look at them. Steggy jumps at the stuffed Steggy happily, meowing and grabbing hold of it with her paws happily. She quite clearly loves it and loves Silena as she flops over on her foot in the process, tail curling around her ankle.

"Right? Isn't it awesome?" She grins, giggling as the cat grabs on to it and flops down. She tries not to move her foot as she straightens up, curling both of her arms around one of Noah's and looking up at him with a sweet smile.

He can pretend to be an asshole, but Silena knows.

There is a reason she tries not to hang out with him and Sarah while they're together: adding in her love magic while they're already in love? They wouldn't be able to keep their hands off each other. Oh no, nope. Silena can use the ability on purpose, but she can't really turn it off.

Being the third wheel all the time always is uncool.

"There was a brontosaurus, but I though a steg for Steggy was better."

[sasspot]

"It seriously is," Noah says with a tiny laugh, and he is totally losing all asshole points at the moment, because he clearly both loves dinosaurs and cats like the secret geek he is.

He can be angry at plenty of people. He can be an asshole, but i'ts hardly all that he is, and he's been so happy lately with his engagement to Sarah that he doesn't really mind not being seen as an asshole anymore at least not by everyone.

He gets Silena kind of sees through his crap.

"There's a brontosaurus too?" His mouth drops. He's gonna need to look more into this. "Yeah, a steg for Steggy's perfect. Thanks. She's gonna love this."

Steggy already does, clamping down on it in her mouth, happy to keep it forever and ever. Noah kind of doesn't want to try to take it away from her cause she'd likely swat him.
