party post } { drinks are on me

So the thing about wishing for home and accidentally winding up with your place of employment is that that employment can now transfer to Teleios. Cami's had Rousseau's for about six months now, and she's managed to change it into the place that Sophie and Jane Anne loved to something that's a little more something of Teleios, even if she kept a lot of the New Orleans flair. It's something she couldn't bring herself to take away, that memory of home, even if she's far, far away.
The upper floors have been modified into a small loft for her and Hope, something simple and comfortable that's currently loaded with baby toys because when you're being spoiled by your Aunt Cami, you can never have too many. She still doesn't know why Hope came with her when she was brought into Teleios, but she is going to do everything in her power to keep her safe until Klaus our Hayley get here. It's not much power, given the measly human of it all, but that's why she hires attractive, strapping supernatural gentlemen to do her dirty work for her.
Currently she's behind the bar, with Hope in her playpen that she worked in there, just so she can keep an eye on her. She's more than willing to pour you a drink, listen to your troubles and woes and make sure that you leave her bar with your mind feeling a little lighter. After all, there's nothing more dangerous than a bartender who also happens to be a psychologist. She'll get what you're worried about out of you sooner or later.

He is in the back of the bar at one of the tables, playing a card game with a man, who gets really fucking pissed when Adam wins, assumes he's cheating. A fight breaks out. The other man is the first one to throw a punch which knocks Adam back against the wall, and how he's fucking pissed.
"Ey, there's a fucking baby in here!" It's shouted in his Irish accent as he grabs the man by the arm to drag him out of the bar even if that means the fight will just continue outside the bar, and it likely will.

Here's the thing about Alek. He feels very strongly toward Adam. The feelings are mostly negative, and at times violent, but Adam is still family. So the sight of someone else attempting to pummel him to the ground, regardless of whether or not Adam is holding his own, pisses him off nearly the same way Adam tends to.
It doesn't help the man has buddies following him and Adam outside of the bar, which is why Alek is getting involved with his own fists flying around.
... Sorry, Cami. Bloodshed will probably occur outside of your bar.

He doesn't realize Alek has seen and that he's headed out after to join in the fighting fray.
He's not used to having anyone watch his back, and even if they're brothers, he knows how much Alek is angry at him. The fact he'd jump up to help defend him isn't expected... at all so he's just going to be getting his ass kicked for a bit before Alek jumps in

He does just that, and quite literally - he jumps, lunges, toward one of the men to haul them off of Adam's back, all teeth and rage. It's not hard to access it. He's come a long way from the boy that would purposefully look for fights, but it doesn't mean the anger's ever fully gone away.
And maybe he's learned to make peace with the fact that it never will.
"You just endear yourself to anyone you meet, don't you?" Alek asks Adam, all while shoving his fist into someone's jaw, hearing a satisfying crack.
no subject
He throws himself into the middle of the fray again, right at the person in the middle of it all.
"They started it for no fucking reason!" For once, he didn't start this, okay? He just tried to finish it outside. He should get some credit, right? "You don't have to--"
He gets a knee to his abdomen but he kicks one of the people down, and they don't get up. Thankfully. That's one down.
no subject
Maybe he chooses not to. It's hard to tell.
He snorts derisively all the same when he sees Adam get kneed in the abdomen. He's sort of irritated at the fact he's also absurdly defensive of the fact, helping Adam kick the asshole down until he doesn't get up. "Yeah, sure. It really looks like you have things under control here."
no subject
Well, he doesn't have it under control, and it's clear by the fact the original guy is punching him right in the face at the present moment when he's distracted by trying to figure out why Alek is helping him.
"Just surprised you give a fuck is all."
He says as he hoists himself up again.

However, it's Logan that ends up punching the final guy in the face until it knocks him down. Now there's three Hales and one guy left, and the one guy decides his best option is to get the fuck out of here.
He stares between the two of them, barely glancing Adam's way.
"What the hell is going on here?"

But her brother works there, and they get free food sometimes, and David won't stop nudging her until he's at least said hi to Rafe and Hope. Besides, the narration loves the idea of tiny David looking after Hope.
They're in a quiet booth when Adam walks back in after the fight. Natalia lifts an unimpressed brow.
David's jaw drops a little.
no subject
He glances at Natalia seeing her unimpressed expression as well as the way David's jaw drops, and he slides a hand behind his neck, suitably shamed. This is not the way he'd want Natalia to see him especially with her looking all gorgeous with her son right there, and-- To his credit, he didn't start it.
He just brought it outside so it wouldn't disturb the baby....
"...what?"
His voice sounds hoarse.
no subject
Natalia sighs in exasperation when looking over at David.
She can't even be too hard on the fact David like this. Natalia was - and sometimes is - the exact same way.
"He does, doesn't he?" Natalia murmurs in agreement, clucking her tongue.
no subject
It's his attempt to try to teach the little kid a lesson even if he obviously got into a fight.
If he had walked away, the guy would've come after him as he was real pissed about losing, but...
He bites down on his lip, glancing up at Natalia's face hopefully. Don't be mad or disappointed or... fuck.
no subject
Telling David not to get into fights while he looks the way he does might prove just a tad ineffectual, however well-intentioned Adam may be in his attempt. Still, she knows these things happen at bars, and she was the one who relented so that David could spend time with Rafe. Natalia places a hand on David's head, fingers ruffling his hair affectionately. "Why don't you go upstairs to check on Hope, see if she was tucked in okay?"
David takes his duties of protector of Hope seriously, so while reluctant to leave Adam, he nods and makes his way up the stairs.
Relieved he's away from the noisy area of the bar, she turns back to Adam. "You sure it isn't as bad as it looks? I can see the shiners all the way from here."
no subject
He's got like another fucking sense here for sternness, and he can catch the way her sternness goes up a notch. Adam pushes himself up to his feet again with a wince before he releases a breath before he shakes his head after a second. His head tilts to the side a bit.
"I don't know. 've had worse." Given, he's died before that is not saying very much. "Look, I'm sorry. Didn't want the kid to see that. Whole reason I dragged that guy outside was cause he was trying to start shit in here where there's Hope and-- and David's at sometimes."
It just didn't help him avoid the fight altogether.
no subject
Natalia inspects him for some time, and when she determines he's genuinely contrite, her lips tug slightly at the corners. She lifts her hand to grab his chin gently, moving his face to the side to inspect one of those shiners he's got blossoming over there.
"Let's get you cleaned up, shall we?"

alek too because i said so
"Ice. You two both definitely need ice."

"...sorry, Cami. Didn't... want to fucking get in a fight. The guy just got pissed at me cause he lost, and he started throwin' his fists around."
So Adam dragged him right out the front door...

Yes, it's Ms. Cami.

(Spoilers, as the tee shirt she stole from her brother's closest would attest, she has not mastered size appropriate tee shirts. Whatever, she just tucked the too big tee shirt into her jeans and it's fine. She was too hungover/still drunk to care at the time.)
"My brother can fix that, if you want." It comes out before she can stop herself, like instinct, glancing down at her beer immediately afterwards. Brett isn't good with people.
no subject
He lifts an eyebrow at what she says, turning to look at her now. It's not like he's any fucking good at people so he doesn't mind really.
"...fix what?" The drink arrives, and he grips hold of it like it is medicine before he downs over half of it.
no subject
Brett, as a rule, is not the most tactful person on the planet. She's actually really tactless most of the time. Not unkind, just plain and blunt in her dry delivery, something that is often misconstrued as her being outright bitchy.
Which is fair, really, just not true.
Still, she doesn't correct herself or qualify her statement. He looks like he was punched in the face with a two by four. Jake can fix that, she knows he'll probably be itching too if he got near enough anyway, might as well make the offer for him. Her eyes flicker back up. "Unless you want to look like Cinderella Man."
no subject
Well, it... kind of is, Adam. He just gets used to it, and the werewolf healing kicks in so it's not like permanent damage sticks around. It'll heal in the matter of a couple of days at the most depending on the strength of the bruising itself.
Not that he knows that from lots and lots of experience... or anything.
"Cinderella Man?" He lifts up his eyebrows in confusion. Most pop references kind of go over his head especially within the last fifteen years when he was in Lucien's castle.

From New Jersey.

In a few days, there won't be a bruise left.
